Duane E. Baum, Esq. received his Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School in New York in 2004, where he was a member of the prestigious and nationally-recognized Moot Court Honor Society receiving the 2004 Alexander and Emily Mehr Moot Court Memorial Award for Outstanding Legal Advocate, and a 2002 NYCLA Judicial Internship Fellowship. Mr. Baum completed his undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Science in Business, Management & Finance graduating as a member of the National Honor Society.
Prior to founding his law firm, Mr. Baum worked as an associate of The Strauss Law Firm, P.A., a full-service boutique litigation firm based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he worked in the areas of foreclosure defense, tenant/landlord matters and commercial litigation, as well as, handled various facets of real estate transactions. Upon his graduation from Brooklyn Law School and prior to his move to South Florida, Mr. Baum worked for several years as a Legal Regulatory Associate for UBS Wealth Management Americas in New York, the investment advisory and portfolio management division for Swiss global financial services company UBS AG. During his time with UBS, Mr. Baum drafted and coordinated the company’s responses to preliminary and formal investigations conducted by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and the various state securities/finance commissions.
Mr. Baum is a member of the Florida Bar and a member of Real Property, Probate & Trust Law and Business Law Sections. He is also a member of the Broward County Bar Association. Mr. Baum served for two years as Chairperson of the Weston Business Leads Group for the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce where he lead the rejuvenation and growth of the membership and developed profitable business alliances among the members. Additionally, he served as a board member of the Weston Business Council of The Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, where he was recognized as the February 2014 Member of the Month. For several years, Mr. Baum served as an active member of the Americas Community Center based in Weston, Florida, a diverse, non-for-profit organization created in 2001 with an emphasis on supporting and improving the Hispanic community of South Florida through business development and networking, educational and other community services. During his time with Americas Community Center he provided pro-bono legal consultation and representation in the areas of real estate law and foreclosure defense.
